Love, love, love having these on hand. They are just like the sticks in restaurants, easy to break apart & perfect because they are disposable. I dont know how many pairs of chopsticks that have been lost around my home, the kitchen drawers & I think the dishwasher has swallowed a few lol so buying these I dont have to worry of keeping track…I just chuck them in the trash!

room when installing a prehung door. For a 36″ door (3′ 0″)

The cup and saucer are pretty much the standard item you would find in a restaurant when ordering an espresso. This is exactly what I was looking for. They have a good weight to them. Be warned the picture makes the cup look like a coffee cup or maybe a small coffee cup as opposed to the ultra sleek compact espresso cup that it is.

Lovely Little Espresso Cups

Love these! Got them for my hubby for Christmas. They are nice quality, especially for the price. I looked all over the internet and could not find any reasonably priced espresso cups that were decent; these are perfect! The saucers have a little “nitch” where the cups fits so it does not slide when you hold it.

Adorable but flawed

These are fabulous. However, you MUST use a saucer; preferably with a napkin to catch the condensation. The cup has a tiny hole in the bottom of each critter that leaks. Having said that, I bought 6 because they are so unique and fun.

Sizes Not Consistent In Series

I bought one of each of these hidden animal mugs in the series (bear, fox, owl). The description states they hold 2 cups each. In my experience, this is wrong. The bear cup will at most hold comfortably 1 & 1/2 cups of liquid – you CAN put more liquid in the cup, but then you’re dealing with liquid at the top seam of the cup which will spill at the slightest quake, and that is not the normal level to which most people fill their cups (with 1/4-1/2 inch buffer from the top at most). The sizes are actually different for all the animals. The fox is the largest (good for about 2 & 1/4 cup) while the owl is the middle size (good for about 2 cups).

All the cups have a hole in the bottom of the cup (probably required puncture for the firing process of the ceramic – apparently the ceramic animal is hollow). There is no leak of the actual beverage from the cup through this hole because the animal is sealed securely to the inside of the cup, BUT if you use the dishwasher to wash these cups and place them upside down in the washer (obviously), you might get water that enters into that cavity between the underside of the cup and the inside of the animal through that small hole puncture in the bottom. Then, when you flip the cup over and use it to drink, you might (as I do regularly) get “leaking” out of the water that crept in there during dishwashing. At least it’s basically clean water, but this is a minor irritation since it’s inevitable I will find a small puddle on the table from this. If I wash by hand, I don’t get water in the cavity because I don’t let the water run over the hole in the bottom while rinsing it since I can control it better, but when I wash by hand, I don’t get as good a clean cup since there are several tight crevices in the sculpted animal that resist being touched by a sponge as you try to rub it all over. Thus the trade-off I go back and forth between every time I have to wash this cup.. do I want an extra clean cup today or do I not want to deal with a puddle on the table.

That said, these cups are very cute and I still love using them. I wish they were more uniform in size since it’s not always easy to remember what level to fill to on each cup to get the same amount of beverage in each one when I’m serving different people since the cups are all different sizes. Even empty, the cup has quite a bit of weight to it. Filled with liquid, it can get to feeling heavy pretty quickly, so I wouldn’t recommend this as a child’s cup.

Poor execution of an adorable idea!

This cup is absolutely adorable. It is huge, and would be PERFECT for my morning cup of coffee except for one major problem…it leaks. A lot. As in–enough to completely saturate a folded paper towel in about thirty seconds. I’ve tried it with both hot coffee, and cold water.

I am unsure if the problem I am having is limited to the cup I received–but when I turned it over to find out why in the world it was leaking, I saw a small but visible hole in the bottom of the mug. It’s a little smaller than the tip of a ballpoint pen. This wouldn’t be a problem if the bear was completely sealed to the inside of the mug, but mine is not. He is sealed most of the way around, except for a tiny section near one of his paws. So the liquid flows under this section of the bear, and right out the hole in the bottom of the cup.

I would guess that I just recieved a rare “bad” mug, except a previous reviewer that mentioned the mug he bought for his wife occasionally leaks. Mine is worse than an occasional leak, but really, in something that’s purpose is solely to hold liquid–no leak is acceptable.

The problem is that this mug is just SO DARN CUTE. If I had noticed this problem before I threw out all the packaging and return slip, I would have just exchanged it for another one…but as it is, I am probably just going to try and seal it myself.

Two stars for an adorable idea!

3. Layer the apple mixture with sweet potatoes in a small, 1-1/2 quart casserole dish, and dot with butter.

4. Cover with foil.

5. Bake in preheated oven for 35-40 minutes.

6. Top the casserole evenly with miniature marshmallows.

7. Place beneath broiler until lightly browned.

My Deliverer of Meals and Romance: Inexpensive Chopsticks Are Perfect

The chopsticks’ long blond legs reached with grace toward a grain of rice. Chiseled, yet delicate, footless and firm, the chopsticks steered into the now empty bowl where remained but one small remnant of an evening that began and ended well.

Now, all candles have been snuffed, and the last taste of wine was sipped from my glass, I looked at this grain. I smiled I maneuvered the chopsticks to pick out the final bit. Nancy had gone home, leaving with plans for breakfast at the coast with me tomorrow.

These are fine chopsticks, the kind found in many Chinese restaurants, and will do as asked. You will not go hungry using these utensils. Tonight, as I pressed the two tips together on each side of the brown rice, I thought that this one grain should stay another night. This was no easy task. The rice was still soft, and unwilling to find its way out of the bowl. Why struggle, I thought? The rice is no doubt happier where it is.

The dishes, I decided, and the rice, could wait for tomorrow.

May your meals be as satisfying as mine with these chopsticks. They are useful for eating rice comfortably.

knitting needles

I have started an after-school knitting club, have taught summer school knitting in my school district and use these chopsticks as knitting needles for my students! They work great! We sharpen the pointed end slightly, sand them well with sandpaper and glue a bead on the non-pointed end. You can use a wooden bead or make beads out of sculpey clay. Rubbing the “knitting needles” with beeswax polish and a cloth rag is the final touch. They are now ready to become size 8 knitting needles to use with worsted weight yarn! The bamboo is nice for beginning knitters because they aren’t as slippery as the metal needles.

Just as “Cook’s Illustrated” reported, this is the best peeler you can get. I use a back and forth action without lifting the peeler. You can fly with this thing! You can’t even see my hands move! OK, big lie, but that’s what it feels like. I got this one for my mom because I loved mine so much. Actually, she saw me peeling something and was impressed with my lightening-like action. Knowing she is way too cheap, I mean…frugal, to buy something of this quality, no matter how easy it makes her life, I got her one. She loves it so much she peels all my stuff for me now, too! OK, another lie. But this peeler is so fantastic, it makes you WANT to peel stuff! Don’t hesitate, you won’t be sorry! No lie!

This peeler is amazing

Wow – I just used this peeler for the first time today, and I was SHOCKED at how easy it was to peel things. I was doing carrots and parsnips for vegetable soup, and the peeler just flew threw them. I wish that everyone could have one of these. For the price, I don’t see why not I also peeled an acorn squash which would have been torturous with my old standard peeler. It is actually fun to peel things using this tool. Get one!

Fantastic Peeler!

This is a fantastic peeler! I have been looking for a new peeler and was beginning to think that there were no decent peelers out there when I saw a Messermeister peeler on America’s Test Kitchen and decided to buy one (if America’s Test Kitchen uses a product, you know it has to be good). What a difference it made in my food prep – I can now peel potatoes, carrots, etc., with ease and in about half the time it took me with my old peeler. Don’t hesitate to buy this product – it’s wonderful!

I bought this to replace a Kolder mini-measure shot glass whose markings had worn off. I was surprised to find this one is made of plastic–it’s in the product description, but I must have missed it. The plastic feels really cheap. Then again, the markings wore off the glass Kolder version after only a few years, so perhaps this plastic one will hold up better.

Great variety, perfect size, functional, what more could you want?

These work wonderfully with sugar cookie dough, but I haven’t tried any other kinds of medium to play with. The sizes vary, but the average cutter size will be around 3 inches.

What’s included:

All the letters in the alphabet and single digit numbers, and a question mark

Lots of hearts: three scalloped and three smooth in different sizes, a heart with an arrow, and a double heart

Holidays:
Easter: bunny face, bunny, egg, cross,
Halloween: big pumpkin, small pumpkin, ghost, scared cat, bat, witch, haunted house
Christmas: small christmas tree, large christmas tree, candy cane, snowman, stocking
4th of July: flag

Sports: trophy, baseball cap, football helmet, football

People: gingerbread-shaped small boy and girl, and gingerbread-shaped large boy and girl, hand, foot

Reasonably Priced Cookie Cutters

This set of cookie cutters will provide all the cookie cutters I will ever need for any holiday or special occasion. They work very well and will not scratch my counter type like metal ones may. This was well worth the cost.
